Inktober2020 - Day 22: Cult

Dragon cult. The powerful priests of this cult were influential representatives of dragons in mortal society. Dragons delegated their power to the priests, and the priests ruled over people like kings.
The priests have vowed to serve their dragon masters forever, and they keep this oath even after death. The draugras, buried in large numbers in ancient Nordic crypts, are in turn called to serve the priests, preserving their bodies from encroachments and endowing them with the energy that they support in the priests. That is why the dead in the burial complexes of the Nords now and then come to life, and the priests rise from their sarcophagi.

The dragon cult ruled the lands of Skyrim, and its roots go back to the time of the arrival of the first Nords from the cold lands of Atmora.
