Creatuanary2020 - Day 3: Alicanto

Alicanto is a large bird from the legends of Chile - from the legends of miners. It is said that this bird eats only gold and silver, it has a very beautiful golden plumage, but cannot fly even with huge wings. This is because it absorbs this precious but heavy metal - therefore, when the bird is hungry, it moves on foot, and when it is full, it barely crawls on the ground. The miners hope to see the bird and track it - after all, it can lead to treasures, but this must be done quietly and imperceptibly - otherwise the bird can entice unfortunate seekers into the canyon or the abyss.

My bird turned out to be gigantic. I gave her huge claws, not only on the legs but also on the folds of the wings - because if she does not fly, she needs to somehow overcome mountain ranges and ridges, which means she needs to have a very tenacious grip. Her head is protected, and her beak is quite powerful - because she needs to break the rock and dig the earth to get to the precious metals.
