Some of my very old insect sketches!

Today in one folder at home I found my very old sketches, which I painted about 8-9 years ago, when I was in art school. I decided to share them here :D

I really loved (and love now) the insect theme. I constantly read about them, kept them at home, spent a lot of time on the street with them. For example - I made these drawings of the Praying Mantis when in the summer the mantis lived with me. They lived all summer, so I could watch and draw them at almost any time. How they eat, move, what is the structure of their body. They even bred at home - and quite successfully, I could bring up to several dozen little praying mantises and let them out. Watching these insects is a pleasure!

There are also several species of wasps and darkling beetle (Blaps lethifera). Here I once painted such insects!
